Guys I can't seem to find Bluetooth in my hp elitebook 840g3 windows 10, any assistance?

:white_check_mark: Step 1: Check If Bluetooth Is Actually Installed

  1. Press Windows + R, type devmgmt.msc, and press Enter – this opens Device Manager.
  2. Look for Bluetooth in the list.
  • If it’s there, expand it and see if anything has a yellow warning icon.
  • If it’s missing, it could mean the driver isn’t installed or Bluetooth is disabled in BIOS.

:white_check_mark: Step 2: Check in Network Adapters

Still in Device Manager:

  1. Scroll down to Network adapters.
  2. Look for any Bluetooth-related devices (e.g., Intel Wireless Bluetooth).

If it’s not there either, read on.

:white_check_mark: Step 3: Enable Bluetooth in BIOS

Sometimes, Bluetooth is disabled at the hardware level.

  1. Reboot your laptop and tap Esc or F10 (depends on your model) to enter BIOS/Setup.
  2. Look for something like Built-in Device Options.
  3. Make sure Bluetooth Device is enabled.
  4. Save and exit.

:white_check_mark: Step 4: Install Missing Drivers

  1. Go to HP’s official driver site.
  2. Search for HP EliteBook 840 G3.
  3. Download and install the latest Bluetooth driver (usually under Driver-Network).
  4. Reboot after installation.

:white_check_mark: Step 5: Check Services

  1. Press Windows + R, type services.msc, press Enter.
  2. Look for Bluetooth Support Service.
  3. If it’s not running, right-click > Start.
  4. Set it to Automatic by double-clicking it.

:white_check_mark: Optional: Use HP Support Assistant

HP has a built-in app that can help install missing drivers:

  • Search for HP Support Assistant in Start menu.
  • Open it, check for updates, and install anything related to Bluetooth.
