Avoid anonymous payments such as Western Union, MoneyGram, or similar services.
Do not send money or goods abroad — it’s almost impossible to recover losses.
Never accept checks — they can be forged or bounce later.
Verify the other party’s details (full name, address, phone number) from a reliable source.
Keep all records — emails, chat messages, listings, and any other correspondence.
Trust your instincts — if a deal sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

Common Signs of a Scam

Watch out if:

The seller/buyer claims to be abroad or “currently traveling.”
They refuse to meet in person.
They insist on payment via Western Union, MoneyGram, or checks.
Their messages are written in poor or broken language.
Their replies look like copy-paste templates.
The offer feels unrealistically cheap or too attractive.
